If you want to be successful, you have to jump, there’s no way around it. When you jump, I can assure you that your parachute will not open right away. But if you do not jump, your parachute will never open. If you’re safe, you’ll never soar!

~Steve Harvey

Jumping can be scary. You never know where or how you are going to land. I have yet to conquer a box jump for the fear that I don’t know how I will land. If I will even make it onto the box. My question is why do I have this fear of jumping? Why do people in general have a fear of jumping, taking a leap of faith?

It really comes down for me a fear of failure. What if I don’t succeed? My inability to jump or take a leap of faith is because my foundation is built on doubt or fear of the unknown. I focus on the what ifs and what I can’t do, I lose all willingness to even try. So here is my proclamation to me. I vow to remove can’t from my vocabulary. I vow to jump and leap as much as I can. I vow to challenge myself physically but also mentally. I vow to take risks. Ultimately with no risk comes no reward. I challenge you all to jump a little more. You may end up with a couple cuts and bruises but the experience will be well worth it. You never know until you try.
